My Role:

I was approached by an English teacher from Dixie State who was incorporating blogging into her English 1010 writing class. She believed blogging, among other benefits, would help students understand the applicability of writing in their lives.

The idea was to have students write about issues in the community and on-campus that would not only serve as writing assignments, but also as promotional articles for the college. What was needed was a centralized location where links to all student blogs could be accessed.

Together we conceptualized the functionality of the website, including tagging student interests. This would help users find relevant blog articles by identify students with similar interests.

I then created the interface design and, with the help of a colleague, the functionality was programmed to take each students' blog URL, pull the two latest articles titles, and provide links to them in the student's profile.

Unfortunately, due to certain complications, this site's continued development has been halted. Thus, the optimal user experience for this site's functionality was never reached.
